Billing, resizing, and grace periods
Billing
Each Bag is billed monthly as its own subscription, on the card you pick at purchase:
| Size | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 TB | $6/mo |
| 5 TB | $20/mo |
| 10 TB | $37/mo |
| 20 TB | $70/mo |
Resizing
- Upgrades take effect immediately; the price difference for the rest of the month is invoiced right away (prorated).
- Downgrades switch you to the lower price at the next billing cycle. Your used space must fit the smaller size. The resize is refused otherwise, with nothing changed.
- No data moves during a resize; it's seamless either way.
If a payment fails
We retry your card automatically for a while. If payment ultimately fails:
- Your Bag is suspended - attachments are disconnected, but your data is kept safe.
- You have a 15-day grace period to settle the invoice. Pay it and everything reconnects automatically, exactly as it was.
- If the grace period passes without payment, the Bag and all data on it are permanently deleted.
You'll see the exact deadline on your Bag of Holding page while a Bag is suspended.
Releasing a Bag
You can release (delete) a Bag any time from the dashboard once all attachments are detached. Releasing permanently deletes everything stored on it. Detach with pull-back first if you need the files copied back to a server.
