Counter-Strike 2 Server Guide

Setup

  • Deploy a game server and select Counter-Strike 2
  • Basic tier works for most setups
  • Configure server name and game mode

    • Game Modes

  • Competitive - 5v5 standard competitive
  • Casual - Relaxed rules, larger teams
  • Deathmatch - Free-for-all respawn
  • Custom - Your own rules and modes

    Key settings in server.cfg:

    hostname "My CS2 Server"

    sv_maxrate 0
    

    sv_minrate 128000
    

    sv_mincmdrate 64
    

    sv_mingrouprate 128000

    GSLT Token

    A Game Server Login Token is required for CS2 servers:

  • Get your token from Steam Game Server Account Management
  • Enter it in the Startup configuration
  • Restart your server

    • Custom Maps

    Upload custom maps to the /csgo/maps/ directory or use Workshop maps by adding their IDs to the startup configuration.
