Garry's Mod Server Guide

Setup

  • Deploy a game server and select Garry's Mod
  • Starter tier works for most servers
  • Choose your game mode (Sandbox, TTT, DarkRP, etc.)

    • Game Modes

  • Sandbox Build and experiment freely
  • Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT) Social deduction
  • DarkRP Roleplay
  • PropHunt Hide and seek
  • Murder Social deduction
  • Custom Install any custom game mode

    • Workshop Addons

    Add Steam Workshop addons:

  • Get the Workshop collection/addon ID
  • Set it in the startup configuration
  • Restart - addons download automatically
  • Players download addons when they connect

    Edit server.cfg:

    hostname "My GMod Server"

    sv_maxrate 0
    

    sv_minrate 100000
    

    sbox_maxprops 200
    

    sbox_noclip 1

    Custom Content

    Upload custom maps, models, and Lua scripts via SFTP or the file manager.
