Minecraft Server Setup Guide

Quick Start

  1. Go to Game ServersDeploy New Server
  2. Select Minecraft (Java or Bedrock)
  3. Choose your plan (Starter works for 2-5 players)
  4. Create your campaign and wait for provisioning

Server Types

  • Vanilla - Standard Minecraft experience
  • Paper - Optimized with plugin support (recommended)
  • Forge - Full mod support
  • Fabric - Lightweight modding
  • Spigot/Purpur - Plugin ecosystems
  • BungeeCord/Velocity - Proxy for multi-server networks

Configuration

Edit server.properties from the file manager:

server-name=My NoobHost Server
max-players=20
difficulty=normal
gamemode=survival
pvp=true
view-distance=10

Performance Tips

  • Use Paper for the best performance without mods
  • Set view-distance to 8-10 for most servers
  • Use Aikar's flags (pre-configured on NoobHost)
  • Monitor TPS from the console with /tps

Common Issues

  • Can't connect - Check your IP and port, make sure the server is online
  • Lag/low TPS - Reduce view distance, limit entities, consider upgrading
  • Mods crashing - Check version compatibility in the console log
