Restoring from Backup

Full Server Restore

  1. Go to your server dashboard
  2. Navigate to Backups
  3. Select the backup you want to restore
  4. Click Restore and confirm

The restore process takes a few minutes depending on the backup size and number of files. Your server will be briefly unavailable during the restore.

Backup download

You should periodically download a backup of your server to always have a fresh copy:

  1. Go to your server dashboard
  2. Navigate to Backups
  3. Select the backup you want to restore
  4. Click Download

A compressed ZIP will be prepared for download. The preparation can take minutes to hours depending on the backup size and number of files. You will receive an email when the download is ready and it will be available to download for 24 hours. After 24 hours, you'll have to prepare the download again.

Important Notes

  • Restoring replaces current files - make a backup of the current state first if needed
  • Database restores replace the entire database
  • Application deployments may need to be redeployed after a restore
