Server Not Starting - Troubleshooting

Step 1: Check the Console

Open your server's control panel and check the console for error messages. Common errors include:

  • Missing files or corrupted installations
  • Port conflicts
  • Configuration syntax errors
  • Insufficient resources
  • Step 2: Check Resource Usage

In your NoobHost dashboard, check if your server is hitting resource limits:

  • CPU Sustained 100% may cause issues
  • RAM Out of memory will crash the server
  • Disk Full disk prevents saves and logs
  • Step 3: Verify Configuration

A typo in a config file can prevent startup:

  • Check for syntax errors in JSON/XML/properties files
  • Revert recent config changes
  • Compare with default configuration
  • Step 4: Reinstall

If the server files are corrupted:

  • Back up your world/save data via SFTP
  • Use the Reinstall option in the server settings
  • Upload your save data back after reinstallation
  • Step 5: Contact Support

If none of the above works, open a support ticket with:

  • Your server ID
  • Error messages from the console
  • Recent changes you made
