Sons of the Forest Server Guide

Setup

  • Deploy and select Sons of the Forest
  • Basic tier or higher
  • Configure server name, max players, and password

    • Configuration

    Edit dedicatedserver.cfg:

  • ServerName - Display name
  • MaxPlayers - Up to 8 players
  • Password - Optional password
  • SaveInterval - Minutes between auto-saves

    • Save Management

  • Server auto-saves at configured intervals
  • You can upload existing saves via SFTP
  • Back up before updating

    • Connecting

    Players connect through the multiplayer menu using your server's IP address and port.

    Performance Notes

    Sons of the Forest dedicated servers are moderately demanding. The Basic tier handles most groups well. Consider Pro tier for the maximum 8 players with complex builds.
