Terraria Server Setup Guide

Setup

  • Deploy a game server and select Terraria
  • Starter tier works for up to 16 players
  • Choose your world size (Small, Medium, Large)

    • Configuration

    Edit serverconfig.txt:

  • maxplayers - Maximum players (up to 16)
  • worldname - Name of your world
  • difficulty - 0=Normal, 1=Expert, 2=Master, 3=Journey
  • password - Server password for private games

    • tModLoader

    For modded Terraria:

  • Select tModLoader as the server type in Startup
  • Install mods via the file manager
  • Players need matching mods installed on their client

    • World Management

  • Worlds are saved automatically
  • You can upload existing worlds via SFTP
  • Back up your world before major changes or mod installations

    • Connecting

    Players connect via Multiplayer → Join via IP using your server's IP address and port.
